Sarah Davol enjoys a career performing on historical and modern oboes throughout North America and Europe. She performs with American Classical Orchestra, Concert Royal, New York State Baroque, Publick Musick, Sarabande, Vox Ama Deus, the Washington Bach Sinfonia, REBEL and Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in San Francisco. On the classical oboe she has performed at Tanglewood, Ravinia and Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart. On the modern oboe/English horn, Ms. Davol's recording of Sun Bin Kim's Aphorisms won a national ASCAP award, and her jazz oboe playing may be heard on TV's Blues Clues (Murmur Productions). She plays periodically on Broadway for several productions and freelances in the New York area. As composer, her music has been described as "intriguing" by Lucid Culture, NYC. Her music was featured on the soundtrack of the Native American film, Our Spirits Don't Speak English, and her composition,Wulangundawa'ken (Lenape for "Peace to all People"), was premiered at the opening of a Peace Labyrinth in the Teaneck (NJ) Creek Conservancy. Ms. Davol's historical oboe playing may be heard on BMG, Centaur, Dorian, Harmonia Mundi, Helicon, Music Masters, Newport Classics, Smithsonian, Teldec, Titanic and Vox. Her recording of Vivaldi's Oboe Concerto in D Minor was recently released on Lyrachord.

Englewinds' mission is to commission and perform music by living composers, and specialize in music that creates environmental awareness. The ensemble has commissioned and premiered over sixty new works by living composers to address environmental issues, and has performed virtuosic music from the standard Classical and Jazz literature to much acclaim.

Englewinds has received commendation from the State of New Jersey Legislature and the Bergen County Freeholders (NJ) for its eco-music programs that have promoted environmental change in the state. Englewinds’ first CD was listed for Grammy Nomination. Members of the ensemble are NYC’s finest freelance musicians; they perform at Lincoln Center with the New York Philharmonic, Mostly Mozart, American Classical Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, and New York City Opera, on Broadway with Phantom of the Opera and other productions, with Liza Minnelli, Claudio Roditi, Sting, and many other credits. Englewinds has performed at the New York Historical Society, New York Botanical Garden, Ellis Island Museum, Trinity Wall Street Concert Series, Helen Keller NYC Foundation Concerts, Greenwich House Music School, Mohonk Mountain House, Lambert Castle, Puffin Cultural Forum and at colleges and universities throughout the Northeast. Performances of installation compositions at outdoor concerts include Grounds for Sculpture, Van Vleck House & Gardens, Teaneck Creek Conservancy, Hackensack Greenway, and more. New Jersey residency concerts include concerts at schools, libraries, senior residences, cardiac health programs, and other venues.

Englewinds has received funding from the Geraldine R.
