Alberto Menchen is quickly becoming one of the most renowned violinists in Spain. He received his first violin lessons at the Conservatory of Seville, later Evgeny Ojogine and Galina Guenkina before at the "Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia" in Madrid he continued in 2001 his teaching. There he met with Zakhar Bron and JL García Asensio and was awarded 2005-2006 "Violinist of the Year".
Since his childhood, Alberto Menchen has received numerous awards and scholarships, including 1st prize at the Chamber Music Competition "Real Maestranza de Sevilla", 1st prize at the "Manuel Castillo" competition, as well as the 1st prize at the International Competition "Vincenzo Boccabianca" and 1st prize in the "Elise Meyer". He was also the winner of the International Competition "Pablo de Sarasate" and "Lipizer". He received scholarships from "AIE", "Juventudes Musicales", "Ministerio de la Cultura", "Junta de Andalucia" and the Berenberg Culture Prize 2011 . Since 2014 he holds a scholarship at "Villa Musica".
In addition, he has appeared at numerous festivals and renowned Künster Linnen. He has also performed with artists such as Natalia Gutman, Elisso Virsaladzse, Gérard Caussé, Boris Garlitsky, Alexander Hülshoff, Tatiana Samouil, Justus Grimm, David Kadouch, David Quiggle, Natalia Tchitch, and Pavel Gomziakov. With his experience in chamber music, Alberto Menchen has advised the most prestigious international artists such Turtchaninova, Vengerov, Markovici, Zafer, Gothoni, Kless, Wataya, Brodsky, Fuks, N. Chumachenko, Fatkulin, Pauk, Blacher, Poppen, Canino, P. Csaba, V. Ashkenazy , F. Helmerson, V. Margulys, E. Nebolsin, Marta Gulyas, Natalia Shakovskaya, Vadim Gluzman, Viktor Dantchenko, E. Koroliov, and Rainer Schmidt.
Alberto Menchen was 1st concertmaster of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and is currently concertmaster of the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne.
